A Carry-On Packing Framework That Leaves Room
Build a small, repeatable wardrobe around climate, laundry access, and what the trip actually asks of you.

Pack for the most common day, not every unlikely scenario. Start with weather and laundry access, then choose a compact palette that allows each layer to work with at least two others.
Wear the bulkiest pieces in transit, decant only what you will use, and reserve a small amount of space. A bag that closes easily is more useful than one optimized to its final cubic centimeter.
